About the Role
Are you a civil, construction, or architectural engineer seeking a change that expands your skills into non-traditional projects? Giles Flythe Engineers is looking for a Professional Engineer to join our North Carolina or Virginia offices, focusing on Community Association projects and commercial assessments.
This role offers hands-on project involvement, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to mentor Engineering Interns (EIs) within a collaborative, team-oriented environment. You will work directly with condominium, multi-family, and single-family Community Association Managers and Boards of Directors. Your day-to-day will involve performing on-site field investigations to complete take-offs and evaluations of buildings and site improvements, as well as developing 30-year capital reserve plans that include life expectancy and cost analysis.
Beyond reserve studies, you may engage in construction administration for projects like roof or paving replacements, commercial real estate due diligence (PCAs and Phase 1 Environmental Assessments), and residential structural evaluations. Effective communication with clients, homeowners, contractors, and architects is essential, and routine travel to project locations within the region will be expected.

Requirements
