About the Opportunity
Our client, a premier contractor based in Charlotte, is seeking a Project Estimator to join their growing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and competitiveness of bids, serving as the bridge between the construction department and the client during the pre-construction phase.
The Role
As a Project Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing comprehensive estimates for submission to clients. Your day-to-day involves thoroughly reading and reviewing drawings and bid packages, preparing quantity take-offs, and coordinating site visits with respective trades to clarify scope and details. You will work closely with the construction department to gather critical information regarding schedules and lead times, while also assisting in the preparation of RFP packages.
A key part of your workflow includes managing RFIs for bid clarifications, forwarding responses to subcontractors, and reviewing the completeness of their quotes. You will collaborate with estimators and owners to finalize bid forms before submission, providing value engineering options when requested. Post-bid, you will answer estimate-related questions and lead turnover meetings with project managers, superintendents, and administrative staff to ensure a smooth transition to the construction phase.
