SAIC is a premier technology integrator providing full life-cycle services in technical, engineering, intelligence, and enterprise IT markets. We are Redefining Ingenuity through deep customer and domain knowledge to enable the delivery of systems engineering and integration offerings for large, complex projects. Our approximately 15,000 employees are driven by integrity and mission focus to serve customers in the U.S. federal government.
This position is for a Programmatic Spacecraft Systems Engineer based in Chantilly, VA, supporting cutting-edge and innovative space programs. You will work daily on-site with the Government to provide advice and guidance on technical and programmatic aspects of a critical space system. Success here requires self-direction, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and a willingness to wear multiple hats in a dynamic environment focused on delivering capability rapidly.
You will serve as the main technical point of contact, leading reviews and translating customer needs into actionable engineering requirements. The role involves fostering communication and alignment among team members to identify challenges and corresponding solutions, while evaluating prime contractor performance at milestone reviews to ensure compliance with technical requirements and the quality of deliverables. You will support system development from initial requirements verification through mission design, prototype development, and test, providing technical and programmatic assessments of contractor designs to assess progress, risks, and the ability to achieve mission requirements.
We are seeking self-directed leaders who skillfully solve complex challenges and bring diverse expertise to our team. While specific technical qualifications are detailed elsewhere, candidates with experience as USAF/USSF acquisition officers or developmental engineers leading satellite programs in the USSF, NRO, or SDA will be especially well-prepared to excel. You should be comfortable applying the full range of the systems engineering discipline and managing programmatic processes in a high-impact mission.
