About the Role
As a Production Engineer at the LaPorte site, you will serve as the primary engineering and line support for daily unit operations. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant production of chemical processes. You will bridge the gap between technical engineering principles and frontline execution, overseeing assigned production units while championing continuous improvements to enhance unit performance.
Day in the Life
Your day involves a dynamic mix of technical analysis, safety leadership, and team coordination. You will monitor and analyze unit operation data to maintain strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality policies. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to troubleshooting complex operational issues, coordinating maintenance schedules, and managing process safety information such as procedures and technical drawings.
You will also play a key role in project engineering initiatives, supporting new installations and product introductions from start-up through commissioning. Beyond technical duties, you will actively participate in emergency response teams, including fire brigade and hazmat response, while providing direction and training to the workforce to foster a culture of safety and operational excellence.
