Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDesign and develop fiber-optic connectors for co-packaged optics applications
- check_circlePerform opto-mechanical simulations using finite element analysis (FEA)
- check_circleCreate and manage detailed 3D solid models using industry-standard CAD tools
- check_circleDraft precise 2D engineering drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- check_circleCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product feasibility and manufacturability
- check_circleDevelop and execute comprehensive test plans for mechanical, thermal, and optical validation
- check_circleConduct environmental and reliability testing to ensure long-term product durability
- check_circleAnalyze test data, identify failure modes, and implement design improvements
- check_circleSupport prototype development and transition designs into production
- check_circleDocument test procedures, results, and design changes in accordance with quality standards
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- verified5–10 years of experience in opto-mechanical design
- verifiedProficiency in 3D CAD modeling (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, Creo)
- verifiedStrong skills in FEA tools (e.g., MSC Marc, NASTRAN, ANSYS, COMSOL)
- verifiedSolid understanding of GD&T and experience creating detailed engineering drawings
- verifiedHands-on experience with mechanical and optical testing equipment
Nice to Have
Experience with co-packaged optics or photonic integrated circuits. Familiarity with optical fiber alignment and packaging techniques. Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to precision optical components.
