About the Team

At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

As part of RTX, we value Safety, Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation. These values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.

About the Role

As a Process Engineer II, you will be the in-factory materials and process specialist, working to improve processes to maintain efficiency, reduce costs, improve sustainability and safety, and maximize profitability. You will thrive in a self-motivated environment, collaborating with multi-disciplined teams committed to innovation and pushing the boundaries of technology.

Your day-to-day work involves verifying that Technical Data Package (TDP) shelf-life materials are correctly called out in Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) and writing material processing procedures. You will collaborate on integrating process equipment within the factory and document its functionality. This role requires direct support of manufacturing activities, meaning you will spend significant time in and around factory areas.

You will act as a key problem solver, quickly addressing production issues related to materials and processes to ensure robust, cost-effective solutions. You will actively participate in daily production meetings, assist with on-the-job training, and collaborate with Factory personnel and the Materials Management Team to address potential obsolescence or supply chain interruptions. Additionally, you will help drive the use of common materials and utilize Lean manufacturing techniques to reduce variability and eliminate constraints.

Hiring Process & Application

This position is based at Raytheon’s Tucson, AZ facility and is an onsite role. The position requires an active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (DoD Secret) prior to the start date; U.S. citizenship is required as only citizens are eligible for this clearance.

The DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. More information about Security Clearances can be found on the US Department of State government website.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid, or remote.

RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted. However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require RTX to shorten or extend the application window.

Equal Opportunity

RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status, or any other applicable state or federal protected class. RTX provides affirmative action in employment for qualified Individuals with a Disability and Protected Veterans in compliance with Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act.
