About the Team

Cardinal Health's Pharmacy Operations team ensures the safe, efficient, and effective coordination of pharmacy services for a diverse range of healthcare settings, including acute care hospitals, retail customers, ambulatory care facilities, and specialized oncology and cardiology practices. The Health System Pharmacy division is dedicated to providing customized program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for hospitals and integrated healthcare providers. We also serve as trusted advisors to healthcare teams regarding prescribed medications, supplies, and related clinical processes.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a PRN Pharmacist to support operations at the Diamond Grove Center, a facility managed by Cardinal Health. In this role, you will serve as a critical resource for covering paid time off, vacation, sick leave, and providing essential on-call support after hours. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with additional hours on Saturdays (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and Sundays (1:00 PM to 5:00 PM).

Working within a hospital system pharmacy outsourced to Cardinal Health, the Pharmacist II acts as the guardian of medication safety and operational efficiency. Your day will involve verifying physician orders through advanced pharmacy information systems, making necessary dosage adjustments based on established protocols, and ensuring compliance with state regulations. Beyond clinical verification, you will supervise Pharmacy Technicians, guiding them through complex prescriptions and automation systems while managing critical compliance tasks related to narcotics control, inventory management, and accreditation. You will also play a direct role in patient education, helping individuals understand their medication regimens, particularly when managing multiple drugs or transitioning to new treatments.
