Endurance is building the world's first modular subsea geothermal power plants, converting vast thermal resources under the ocean into gigawatts of baseload power. Backed by First Round Capital and Point72 Ventures, our founding team includes veterans from SpaceX, Helion, and Robinhood. We have completed multiple deep ocean deployments and are launching our generation pilot this year. By leveraging manufacturing scale, efficient drilling, and latent cooling on the seafloor, we are pioneering a new category of energy that outperforms traditional sources on both environmental impact and cost.
As the Principal Geologist, you will be at the forefront of identifying and characterizing the most promising subsea geothermal sites around the globe. This role combines cutting-edge marine geology techniques with practical drilling operations experience to unlock the vast energy potential beneath the ocean floor. You will wear multiple hats, working directly with engineering teams to translate geological insights into actionable deployment strategies while also getting your hands dirty with field operations and data collection.
In true startup fashion, you will move fast, make decisions with incomplete information, and adapt quickly as we learn from each deployment. Your geological expertise will be fundamental to our mission of scaling clean energy infrastructure globally, and you will have the autonomy to shape how we approach subsea geology as the company grows.
This position offers the rare opportunity to travel to fascinating deployment sites along oceanic ridges in locations like the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, Iceland, Japan, New Zealand, and the Azores. You will participate in sea trials and deployment operations in partnership with leading oceanographic institutions, working with technology that spans high-power electronics, marine systems, and clean energy. The role includes company-sponsored recreational dive certification and the chance to help solve one of the world's most pressing challenges.
Endurance is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
