Schneider Electric is a global leader in energy management and automation, driving the transition to a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable world. With €40 billion in revenue and over 150,000 employees across 100+ countries, we operate at the intersection of automation, electrification, and digitization. Our culture is built on IMPACT values—Inclusion, Mastery, Purpose, Action, Curiosity, and Teamwork—inviting every employee to become an IMPACT Maker who turns sustainability ambitions into tangible actions.
This U.S.-based position is designed for a seasoned architect to lead the definition of scalable multicore architectures and communication stacks for industrial safety systems. You will serve as a strategic partner in R&D initiatives, guiding the evolution of PLC firmware and embedded systems to ensure strict compliance with SIL standards and the IEC 61508/61511 safety lifecycle. The role demands a deep collaboration with hardware, systems, and test engineering teams, often coordinating with remote teams in India, Germany, and France, to bridge the gap between complex safety requirements and robust technical implementation.
In this role, you will not only architect and review device drivers, bootloaders, and diagnostics but also lead major design reviews and safety assessments. You will be the technical authority responsible for interpreting datasheets, safety manuals, and diagnostic coverage requirements, while directing collaboration with certification bodies like TÜV for audits. Beyond technical execution, you will mentor engineers and shape the strategic direction of our safety architecture, ensuring that our systems are secure, fault-tolerant, and ready for the future of industrial automation.
To be considered for this position, you must submit an online application. The company accepts applications on an ongoing basis until the role is filled.
