The Hardware Engineering, Air Launched Effectors Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our StormBreaker team as a Mechanical Engineer/Designer. This position serves as a technical leader supporting the full program life cycle, from early development and production support to legacy sustainment activities.
You will provide critical technical support for production, recertification, and development efforts across the StormBreaker program. The role involves navigating the entire design life cycle, from requirements understanding and concept development to the creation of technical data packages and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles. You will work in a fast-paced environment, applying engineering test principles and preparing technical analysis reports to present in design reviews.
This is an onsite position located in Tucson, AZ. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid, or remote.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management or equivalent configuration/data management software. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Ability to work in teams or independently, flexible, and demonstrates initiative. Experience in a technical leadership role including experience across the development lifecycle. Advanced degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or hardware systems design. Experience working on development and production programs for products used in military applications. Experience working in a factory supporting full-rate production of missile components and assemblies. Working knowledge of Military and Commercial Specifications. Leadership experience with small teams (4-6 people). Ability to travel to government and supplier facilities. Experience leading and conducting trade studies, development and design, requirements development and management, and integration and test of mechanical engineering products. Experience working across multiple functional and discipline organizations to resolve technical challenges. Experience in the development, creation, release, and updates of mechanical technical data packages. Experience in the review and interpretation of technical documentation in a production environment. Experience working with suppliers that develop mechanical products, machined parts, and electronics. Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal, structural analysis, energetics principles, control systems, interconnect, airframe, or large assembly development. Supplier interaction and supplier management experience, both domestically and internationally. Understanding of EXIM and Global Trade processes. Familiarity working with JCAs. Earned Value Management System (CAM) trained and certified.
