This Post-doctoral Researcher position is designed to advance the documentation of endangered languages, with a specific focus on ethnolinguistic data collection and analysis. The role is critical for preserving linguistic heritage and requires an in-depth knowledge of polysynthetic languages and Northwest Native American cultures. We particularly encourage members of Indigenous communities to apply.
The position operates on a .49 FTE basis and is dependent on external grant funding, currently expected to last until August 31, 2028. The successful candidate will spend their time bridging the gap between fieldwork and academic output, conducting ethnolinguistic research, transcribing and documenting language data, analyzing audio and video materials, and contributing to grant writing and scholarly publications.
