Success in this position requires an in-depth knowledge of a specialized field and the ability to organize complex research plans, develop methods, and conduct data analysis and evaluation.
The Fellow will engage in research on formal verification methods for human detection and perception models used in robotic safety loops, as well as runtime assurance, uncertainty monitoring, and evaluation metrics for safe human-aware robot operation. This work involves recruiting participants, collecting and analyzing data, conducting experiments within the department's methodology, and maintaining lab equipment. The role also includes participating in manuscript writing for scientific journals, assisting with grant writing, publishing research papers, mentoring students, and collaborating with sponsors and project partners.
