This position is based in the laboratory of Dr. Chengwen Li within the Gene Therapy Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The team's general research interest focuses on developing adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors to treat various diseases, including neurodegeneration and liver disorders, using animal and other research models. A key objective is to study the interaction of AAV vectors with the host immune response in transduced cells, aiming to design more effective and safer vectors for clinical applications. These projects are driven by their translational potential and clinical impact.
