About the Role
The City of Steamboat Springs' Police Department is hiring Police Sergeants to join their team. This role is designed for those who like serving in a role that will directly and positively impact our great community. As a Sergeant, you will exercise general supervision over police officers and other staff, ensuring the general enforcement of law and prevention of crime and disorder.
You will be part of a highly engaged workforce proudly serving the community with excellence. Your day will involve visiting scenes of crimes, emergencies, or accidents to assist and supervise officers, personally handling difficult situations, complaints, and investigations. You will coordinate law enforcement-related functions such as special events, hiring, and training, while developing new approaches to investigate problems. The role requires maintaining contact with the general public, court officials, and other City officials to ensure seamless operations.
