The Grove City Division of Police is a nationally accredited agency by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), placing it among the top 10% of law enforcement agencies in the United States. About the Role
As a Police Officer, you will be a direct service provider to the public, responsible for law enforcement, crime prevention, and the apprehension of criminals. Your day-to-day duties will involve responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, conducting preliminary investigations of crimes and traffic crashes, and reporting on incidents. You will work as part of a committed team dedicated to establishing the division as one of the finest agencies in Central Ohio.
Hiring Process
To apply, candidates must complete two steps: submit an application to Grove City and register for the National Testing Network (NTN) Law Enforcement Exam. Existing NTN scores can be applied for a fee, or new candidates must pay the standard exam cost. Applications and test scores must be received by the specified deadlines to be considered.
The selection process for qualified candidates includes:
- Information Sessions: Attend a scheduled session to learn more about the role.
- Assessments: Complete the PRADCO Assessment and an online background questionnaire.
- Physical Fitness Test: Attend one of the scheduled fitness assessments.
- Background Investigation: A thorough review including truth verification, drug testing, and psychological and medical evaluations.
- Interview: Participate in an interview with the Police Executive.
- Certification & Offer: Successful candidates are placed on a certification list for Civil Service Commission approval, followed by a conditional offer of employment.
- Training: Upon acceptance, you will take the Oath of Office and proceed to the Training Academy.
