The Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) operates Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Ryan Airfield (RYN), serving as a vital gateway for the region. Our mission is to provide safe, secure, and efficient aviation services while upholding the highest standards of public safety and operational excellence. We are committed to fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and community service.
As a Police Officer with the TAA, you will serve as the primary responder for both emergency and non-emergency situations across our airport properties. This role is critical to maintaining the safety of passengers, employees, and infrastructure while ensuring strict adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
You will act as a champion for the TAA's mission and cultural fundamentals, balancing law enforcement duties with public assistance. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve high-visibility patrols to deter crime, managing complex emergency incidents using Incident Command System (ICS) protocols, and coordinating closely with the FAA Air Traffic Control Tower, TSA, and local agencies. Whether mediating disputes, directing traffic, or responding to critical incidents involving loss of life or property, you will operate with mature judgment in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Candidates must meet specific certification and legal requirements, including U.S. citizenship and Arizona P.O.S.T. Board certification. Selected candidates will be required to complete National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses (Levels 100, 200, 700, and 800) within their first year of employment. The role also requires obtaining and maintaining access to the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) and passing an annual respirator fit test.
The Tucson Airport Authority is an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
