This Pipeline Estimator position is integral to the front-end project lifecycle, serving as the bridge between commercial strategy and field execution. The role is designed to develop accurate, competitive cost estimates for pipeline construction, facilities, and integrity scopes. You will interface closely with project management, engineering, and field operations to ensure that every estimate reflects real-world execution capabilities, current market conditions, and specific commercial goals.
In this role, you will not only build cost models but also influence bid strategies that balance win probability with margin protection. The position offers a direct impact on high-value infrastructure projects, allowing you to see your estimates tied closely to execution reality. You will work within a collaborative, operations-driven environment with clear visibility to leadership, ensuring a seamless transition from estimation to project handover.
Your work will span a mix of office-based analysis and field engagement. You will review RFQs, drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications, often participating in pre-bid meetings and conducting site visits to assess constructability and identify key cost drivers. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to building comprehensive cost models using internal tools and historical data, while collaborating with project managers and field leadership to validate assumptions and production rates.
You will also be responsible for maintaining cost databases and monitoring regional labor trends and material pricing within the West Texas energy infrastructure markets. While primarily office-based, the role requires regular travel to project sites across West Texas, including field exposure where you will navigate pipeline right-of-way and work in variable outdoor conditions to ensure your estimates align with on-the-ground realities.
