Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. The culture is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose in law enforcement aviation. AMO offers skilled pilots an opportunity to join a mission-driven organization where daily operations focus on the detection, prevention, and interdiction of threats at the nation's borders.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a law enforcement officer performing aviation-based operations to stop terrorists, weapons, and contraband from entering or attacking the United States. This is a security-based career designed for those seeking excitement, job stability, and the chance to work with an elite team.
Your day-to-day mission involves conducting air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities to intercept smuggled goods via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. You will monitor suspect behavior patterns, collect and analyze strategic intelligence, and support search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. The role demands rapid decision-making in diverse flight environments, including night operations, poor weather, and low altitudes.
AMO utilizes a streamlined application process for full-time security-based opportunities. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: It is highly recommended to opt into CBP's talent repository by selecting the Contact a Recruiter button. Choose Air and Marine Operations and Air Interdiction Agent as your position of interest to receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Successful candidates will complete a three-part assessment. A duty location will be offered after this assessment, based on operational and mission requirements. You must be willing to work at any location within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, or NASOC UAS locations).
AMO is committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. The agency actively recruits seasoned pilots and those with military training, recognizing the unique value they bring to the team. Veterans' preference eligibility is recognized in accordance with federal statutes, and specific age waivers may apply for veterans and those with prior federal law enforcement service.
