Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement career that combines aviation expertise with a critical national security mandate.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a skilled pilot performing aviation-based law enforcement operations. This role is designed for those seeking an exciting and rewarding career with exceptional federal benefits and job stability. You will partner with a team to conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring suspect behavior patterns, collecting and analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. This position is ideal for seasoned pilots and those with military training who are ready to apply their skills in a high-stakes, mission-critical environment.
AMO utilizes a streamlined application process for full-time security-based opportunities. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository by selecting the "Contact a Recruiter" button. Choose "Air and Marine Operations" and "Air Interdiction Agent" as your position of interest to complete pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment and Placement: Successful candidates must complete a three-part assessment. Duty locations are assigned based on operational and mission requirements after this assessment. You must be willing to work at any duty location within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch, or NASOC UAS locations).
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. As a federal law enforcement agency, we adhere to specific citizenship, residency, and age requirements to ensure the integrity and capability of our workforce. We welcome veterans and value the diverse experiences they bring to our mission of securing the nation's borders.
