Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement career that combines aviation expertise with national security.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a critical asset in aviation-based law enforcement operations. This role is designed for experienced pilots seeking a rewarding career with exceptional stability and the chance to make a tangible impact on border security. You will partner with ground assets to conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities, monitoring suspect behavior and analyzing strategic intelligence to support search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
The day-to-day life of an AIA involves high-stakes decision-making in diverse environments, from night flights and poor weather conditions to low-altitude operations over challenging terrain. Whether operating manned aircraft or Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), you will be at the forefront of securing the nation's borders while working within a supportive, mission-driven culture.
Becoming an Air Interdiction Agent involves a streamlined but rigorous selection process. Candidates must successfully complete a three-part assessment to determine their suitability for the role and subsequent duty location.
