Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. The group is defined by its camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to intercept terrorists, weapons, and contraband before they can enter or attack the United States.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career in aviation-based law enforcement. This role is designed for skilled pilots seeking a mission-driven environment where they can utilize their expertise to detect, prevent, and apprehend threats via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. The position offers the opportunity to conduct air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities while supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
Day-to-day operations involve monitoring behavior patterns of suspect persons and assets, collecting strategic intelligence, and making rapid, judicious decisions during in-flight operations. The role is critical to the agency's mission and offers exceptional job stability within the federal government.
AMO utilizes a streamlined application process for full-time security-based opportunities. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: It is highly recommended to opt into CBP's talent repository by selecting the Contact a Recruiter button. Choose Air and Marine Operations and Air Interdiction Agent as your position of interest to receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment and Location: Upon successful completion of a three-part assessment, candidates will receive a duty location offer. You must be willing to work at any location within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch, or NASOC UAS locations) based on operational and mission requirements.
We are an equal opportunity employer and consider qualified applicants regardless of background. We actively encourage applications from veterans, who may be eligible for age waivers and preference eligibility under 5 U.S.C. 3312. Our culture is built on the hallmarks of an elite law enforcement team, fostering a sense of pride and purpose in every member's daily mission.
