Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement career that combines aviation expertise with national security.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a critical asset in aviation-based law enforcement operations. This role is designed for experienced pilots who wish to apply their skills in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. Your day-to-day activities will involve conducting air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit operations to intercept smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. You will monitor suspect behavior patterns, collect and analyze strategic intelligence, and support search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
This is a full-time, security-based position offering exceptional federal benefits, job stability, and a streamlined application process. We are actively seeking seasoned pilots and those with military training to join our ranks. Successful candidates will be assigned to duty locations based on operational and mission requirements, with flexibility to work within the Southeast, Southwest, or NASOC UAS regions.
The recruitment process for Air Interdiction Agents is rigorous and structured to ensure the highest standards of capability. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository by selecting the "Contact a Recruiter" button. Choose "Air and Marine Operations" and "Air Interdiction Agent" as your position of interest to receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Duty locations are determined after successfully completing a three-part assessment. The final offer letter will specify a geographic location within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch, or NASOC UAS locations). Candidates must be willing to work at any duty location within that region.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or genetic information. Veterans' preference eligibility is recognized in accordance with federal statutes, and specific age waivers may apply for veterans or those with prior federal law enforcement service.
