Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), brings together an elite team of highly trained professionals. Camaraderie, pride, and a shared sense of purpose are hallmarks of our daily mission to protect America. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to serve in a law enforcement capacity within a dynamic, security-focused environment.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will perform aviation-based law enforcement operations dedicated to the detection, prevention, interdiction, and apprehension of terrorists, weapons, and contraband attempting to illegally enter or attack the United States. This is a full-time, security-based career designed for those seeking excitement, job stability, and the chance to make a tangible impact on national security.
Your day-to-day involves conducting air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities to intercept smuggled goods via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. You will monitor behavior patterns of suspect persons and assets, collect and analyze strategic intelligence, and support search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. This role is ideal for seasoned pilots and those with military training who want to leverage their flight skills for a critical federal mission.
Duty locations are determined by operational and mission requirements. You must be willing to work at any location within your selected region, including the Southeast (Homestead, FL; Aguadilla, PR), Southwest (AZ, CA, TX), or NASOC UAS locations (Sierra Vista, AZ; San Angelo, TX).
The application process is streamlined and offers three primary pathways:
After successfully completing a three-part assessment, a duty location will be offered. We highly recommend staying updated by opting into CBP's talent repository. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or genetic information. Veterans' preference eligibility is recognized in accordance with federal statutes, and specific age waivers may apply for veterans and those with prior creditable law enforcement service.
