Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career in aviation-based law enforcement. This role is designed for skilled pilots seeking to apply their expertise in a high-stakes environment where every flight contributes to national security. You will partner with a diverse team to conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities against smuggled goods via land, air, or sea. Your day-to-day involves monitoring suspect behavior, analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting critical search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
We are actively recruiting seasoned pilots and those with military training to fill these full-time, security-based positions. If you are looking for job stability, exceptional federal benefits, and the opportunity to serve on the front lines of border security, this is your moment to make your move.
The application process for Air Interdiction Agents is streamlined but rigorous. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository. Select the Contact a Recruiter button, choose Air and Marine Operations and Air Interdiction Agent as your position of interest, and complete the pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Successful candidates will be offered a duty location based on operational and mission requirements after completing a three-part assessment. You must be willing to work at any location within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, or NASOC UAS locations).
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background.
Age & Veterans: While the standard maximum age for initial appointment to a primary law enforcement officer within DHS is 37, the Commissioner of CBP has approved a temporary increase to age 40 for Air Interdiction Agents. Veterans' preference eligibility may also affect age requirements for original appointment. We encourage all eligible veterans to submit proof of preference (DD-214 Member 4 Copy) at the time of application.
