Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement culture where every member plays a critical role in national security.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a skilled pilot performing aviation-based law enforcement operations. This is a unique career path that combines high-level aviation expertise with federal law enforcement duties. You will conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities to intercept smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring suspect behavior patterns, collecting and analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. This role is designed for those seeking an exciting, rewarding career with exceptional stability and the chance to work alongside a dedicated team.
The recruitment process for Air Interdiction Agents is streamlined but rigorous. There are three primary ways to apply: submit the applicant checklist and resume via email to a recruiter, apply through USAJOBS, or apply through Airline Apps.
Selected candidates will undergo a three-part assessment to determine their suitability for the role. Upon successful completion of this assessment, a duty location will be offered based on operational and mission requirements. New hires must be willing to work at any duty location within the selected region, including the Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch (CAMB), or National Air Security Operation Centers (NASOC) UAS locations.
Candidates are also encouraged to opt into CBP's talent repository by contacting a recruiter. This ensures you receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities with AMO and CBP.
We are an equal opportunity employer and consider qualified applicants regardless of background. We actively encourage applications from veterans, who may be eligible for age waivers and preference eligibility under 5 U.S.C. 3312. All applicants must meet specific citizenship, residency, and age requirements, with temporary provisions allowing for an increased maximum age of 40 for original placement into this position.
