As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a critical asset in aviation-based law enforcement operations. Your primary mission is the detection, prevention, interdiction, and apprehension of terrorists, weapons, and contraband attempting to illegally enter or attack the United States. This role is designed for those seeking an exciting and rewarding career that combines the thrill of flight with the responsibility of federal security.
Your day-to-day activities involve conducting air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit operations targeting smuggled goods moving via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. You will monitor behavior patterns of suspect persons and assets, collect and analyze strategic intelligence, and support search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. Whether operating in the Southeast, Southwest, or at National Air Security Operation Centers (NASOC), you will be part of a dynamic team responding to evolving operational and mission requirements.

Note on Age Requirements: While the standard maximum age for original appointment to a primary law enforcement officer within DHS is 37, the Commissioner of CBP has approved a temporary increase to age 40 for Air Interdiction Agent positions. Veterans' preference eligibility may also affect age restrictions in accordance with federal statutes.
