Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement career that combines aviation expertise with national security.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will perform aviation-based law enforcement operations. This is a full-time, security-based role designed for those seeking an exciting and rewarding career with exceptional federal benefits and job stability. You will partner with a team to conduct air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your day-to-day involves monitoring suspect behavior, analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
Seasoned pilots and those with military training are in high demand. This role offers the chance to work in diverse environments, from the Southeast and Southwest borders to the Caribbean and National Air Security Operation Centers (NASOC). You must be willing to work at any duty location within the region you select, as assignments are determined by operational and mission requirements.
The application process is streamlined and includes three primary pathways:
Candidates must successfully complete a three-part assessment to secure a duty location. Additionally, new hires are required to complete the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy (FLETC). Failure to complete required training may result in separation or reassignment.
We are actively recruiting for these positions with significant incentives for new hires, including recruitment and retention bonuses. We encourage you to stay updated on opportunities by opting into CBP's talent repository, which provides monthly emails regarding webinars, career expos, and future openings.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. Veterans' preference eligibility applies to those entitled under 5 U.S.C. 3312, and specific age waivers may apply for veterans or those with prior federal law enforcement service.
