Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement culture where daily operations are driven by a commitment to national security and public safety.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a critical asset in aviation-based law enforcement. This role is designed for experienced pilots seeking an exciting and rewarding career with exceptional federal benefits and job stability. You will partner with a dedicated team to conduct air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring suspect behavior patterns, collecting and analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. This is a full-time, security-based position where your expertise directly impacts the safety of the nation's borders.
The recruitment process for Air Interdiction Agents is streamlined but rigorous, designed to identify the most qualified candidates. There are three primary ways to apply: submit the applicant checklist and resume via email to a recruiter, apply through USAJOBS, or apply through Airline Apps. Highly recommended, candidates can also opt into CBP's talent repository to receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Successful candidates will undergo a three-part assessment. Upon completion, a duty location will be offered based on operational and mission requirements. You must be willing to work at any duty location within the selected region, including the Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch (CAMB), or National Air Security Operation Centers (NASOC) UAS locations.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or genetic information. Veterans' preference eligibility is recognized in accordance with federal statutes, and specific age waivers may apply for veterans or those with prior creditable law enforcement service.
