Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement career that combines aviation expertise with national security.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a critical asset in aviation-based law enforcement operations. This role is designed for experienced pilots seeking a rewarding career with exceptional stability and the chance to make a tangible impact on border security. Your day-to-day activities will involve conducting air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit operations to intercept smuggled goods via land, air, or sea. You will monitor suspect behaviors, analyze strategic and tactical intelligence, and support search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. This is a full-time, security-based position where your skills directly contribute to the safety of the nation.
AMO utilizes a streamlined application process for qualified candidates. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository by selecting the "Contact a Recruiter" button. Choose "Air and Marine Operations" and "Air Interdiction Agent" as your position of interest to complete pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment and Placement: Successful candidates will complete a three-part assessment. Duty locations are assigned based on operational and mission requirements after this assessment. You must be willing to work at any location within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch, or NASOC UAS locations).
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. As a federal law enforcement position within the Department of Homeland Security, this role adheres to specific age and citizenship requirements to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of our mission. Veterans' preference eligibility is recognized in accordance with federal statutes.
