Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. The group is defined by its camaraderie, pride, and a shared sense of purpose in its daily mission to secure the nation's borders.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career in aviation-based law enforcement. Your primary mission is to detect, prevent, and apprehend terrorists, weapons, and contraband attempting to illegally enter or attack the United States. This role offers the opportunity to work with a skilled team of pilots and professionals in a dynamic environment that combines high-stakes security operations with search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
You will conduct air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled goods moving via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. The role requires monitoring suspect behavior, analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence, and making rapid, judicious decisions during in-flight operations. It is an exciting opportunity for seasoned pilots and those with military training to apply their skills in a critical federal law enforcement capacity.
AMO utilizes a streamlined application process for full-time security-based opportunities. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: It is highly recommended to opt into CBP's talent repository by selecting the "Contact a Recruiter" button. Choose "Air and Marine Operations" and "Air Interdiction Agent" as your position of interest to complete pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment and Location: Upon successful completion of a three-part assessment, a duty location will be offered. Candidates must be willing to work at any location within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, CAMB, or NASOC UAS locations) based on operational and mission requirements.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. The agency is committed to diversity and inclusion within its ranks.
Veterans' Preference: To ensure compliance with statutes, the maximum age requirement for original appointment does not apply to individuals entitled to veterans' preference eligibility under 5 U.S.C. 3312. Proof of Veteran's Preference (DD-214 Member 4 Copy) must be submitted at the time of application.
