As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career in aviation-based law enforcement. You will perform air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities, monitoring suspect behavior and analyzing strategic intelligence to secure the nation's borders.
The day-to-day life of an AIA involves high-stakes operations, including the interdiction of smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. You will also support search and rescue and humanitarian efforts, working alongside a team that values precision and dedication. Successful candidates must be willing to work at any duty location within their selected region, including the Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch (CAMB), or National Air Security Operation Centers (NASOC) UAS locations.

Age & Veterans: While the standard maximum age for original appointment to a primary law enforcement officer within DHS is 37, the Commissioner of CBP has approved a temporary increase to age 40 for Air Interdiction Agent positions. Veterans' preference eligibility may also affect age requirements for those entitled to such preference under 5 U.S.C. 3312.
