As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career in aviation-based law enforcement. Your primary mission is to detect, prevent, and apprehend terrorists, weapons, and contraband attempting to illegally enter or attack the United States. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with an elite team where your skills directly support the detection and interdiction of smuggled goods via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels.
Day-to-day, you will conduct air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities while monitoring the behavior patterns of suspect persons and vessels. The role involves collecting and analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence to support broader security efforts, as well as participating in search and rescue and humanitarian operations. This is a full-time, security-based position designed for skilled pilots seeking a challenging and stable federal career.
There are three ways to apply to become an Air Interdiction Agent:
Stay Updated: It is highly recommended to opt into CBP's talent repository by selecting the Contact a Recruiter button. Choose Air and Marine Operations and Air Interdiction Agent as your position of interest to complete pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly emails regarding webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment and Location: A duty location will be offered after successfully completing a three-part assessment. Locations are determined by operational and mission requirements. You must be willing to work at any duty location within the region you select, which may include the Southeast Region (Homestead, FL; Aguadilla, PR), Southwest Region (AZ, CA, TX), or NASOC UAS locations (AZ, TX).
We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. This position is part of the Department of Homeland Security, and specific age and citizenship requirements apply to ensure the safety and integrity of the mission.
