The Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science at the University of Arizona-Tucson and Banner University Medical Group is actively seeking Comprehensive, Contact Lens, or Pediatric Optometrists to join our growing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice within a vibrant academic environment that combines high-level clinical care with a strong commitment to education and research.
The selected candidate will focus on specialty contact lenses, pediatrics, or comprehensive eye care, tailored to their specific training and experience. Clinical services are delivered at the Banner University Medicine Ophthalmology Clinic in Tucson, featuring nine half-daily clinical sessions per week. The position includes an academic faculty appointment with the University of Arizona-Tucson College of Medicine, with a rank consistent with the candidate's credentials.
A key component of this role is the support of our ophthalmology residency program, which hosts four residents annually. We seek an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about mentoring the next generation of eye care professionals. Additionally, the preferred candidate will possess a strong interest in clinical research, contributing to the department's ongoing scholarly activities.
