About the Practice
We are an active Obstetrician/Gynecology practice within the division of Stony Brook Community Medical, PC, supported by the vast resources of Stony Brook Medicine. Our team currently includes two full-time board-certified OB/GYNs, two nurse practitioners, and full-time sonographers.
Located in Suffolk County, Long Island, our private office setting offers easy access to Stony Brook University Hospital and other area hospitals. Our mission is to provide the community with a level of quality care, cutting-edge treatments, and personalized attention.
About the Role
We are seeking a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join our team as the leader of our clinical group. In this role, you will serve as the head of the clinical team, responsible for the conduct and care provided by nurses, medical assistants, and technologists. You will also guide shadowing medical students, physician extenders, and nursing interns.
As a team leader, you will provide comprehensive health care, including diagnosis, treatment, and the development of patient care plans. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic procedures, and prescribing medications. You will also focus on preventative and acute care, patient education, and wellness promotion.
The role requires building a patient population base to ensure the practice's sustainability while adhering to evidence-based practices and meeting quality benchmarks established by Population Health, Payors, NYS DOH, and CMS. You will share night and weekend call coverage with colleagues, with on-call duties primarily taken from home on a 1-in-3 basis.
