Trinity Health Hauenstein Neurosciences is the area's most well-established, comprehensive Neuroscience Program, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. From Epilepsy and Stroke to Parkinson's Disease, Sleep Disorders, and Spine Care, the program treats a wide range of nervous system conditions using state-of-the-art technology and the latest techniques. Our team of experts is the most experienced in the region, dedicated to designing personalized treatment plans with a compassionate focus on healing the mind, body, and spirit.
We are seeking a full-time Neuro-Ophthalmologist to join the Hauenstein Neurosciences Team. This position serves as the cornerstone of West Michigan's only Neuro-Ophthalmology program. You will provide comprehensive medical evaluations for diseases affecting the visual pathways and control of eye movements, including the diagnosis and treatment of visual problems related to the nervous system and unexplained or sudden vision loss.
Your day-to-day will involve conducting specialized neuro-ophthalmologic testing—such as visual acuity, visual field testing, pupillary reactivity, color perception, ocular alignment, and optical coherence tomography—while delivering comprehensive patient and family education. You will operate within a strong interdisciplinary model of care, collaborating closely with RNs, MAs, technicians, MSWs, Patient Support Coordinators, PTs, OTs, and Vestibular Rehab specialists. As your practice builds, you may also participate in general neurology visits. Additionally, the team serves as a national Multiple Sclerosis Society Partner in MS Care.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a specialized program in a region with no other dedicated Neuro-Ophthalmology services. You will join a compassionate, expert team committed to advancing neurological care through innovation and personalized patient support.
Interested candidates should submit their application to join Trinity Health Medical Group. Please note that physicians must be board certified in their specialty or board eligible (with certification required within two years), hold a valid Michigan state license and DEA license, and maintain BLS certification.
