CHRISTUS Southeast Texas - St. Elizabeth Health is a Catholic, not-for-profit healthcare system serving the community for over 117 years. Guided by the values of the founding Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, our mission is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. We are a fully integrated delivery system featuring two inpatient hospitals, a short-stay surgical hospital, and 27 points of access. As the region's only Level III Trauma Center, we are a leader in outpatient services, cardiology, oncology, neurology, and emergency care.
At CHRISTUS Health, our people are our greatest asset. We are united in our mission to deliver exceptional care to all, regardless of economic background. This position anchors a new permanent inpatient Gastroenterology service model, building upon a foundation of dedicated support staff including RNs, LVNs, endoscopy nurses, and anesthesia teams.
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Inpatient Gastroenterologist to join our esteemed team in Beaumont, TX. In this role, you will manage a patient volume of 15-18 patients daily, overseeing admissions, daily care, and discharges. You will provide critical inpatient GI consultations, often collaborating with intensivists and other specialists to care for patients in our 10-bed closed ICU and 11-bed Progressive Care Unit.
Your clinical focus will include performing essential GI procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, and ERCP. While advanced procedures like EUS are not currently supported, you will work alongside a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who will support consults, allowing you to focus on procedural care. You will utilize the Epic EMR system and work within a supportive environment that includes clinic scribes.
The schedule operates on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off model. Weekend coverage is required, involving rounds followed by home call. Night call is reserved for emergencies, and holiday coverage is shared equally among providers. This role offers a balanced professional and personal lifestyle, designed to support both experienced physicians and new graduates.
