As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) within Lynn Public Schools, you will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to supporting students with diverse needs. You will provide direct physical therapy services to students on your caseload, ensuring that treatment activities target specific goals and benchmarks outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Your day will involve collaborating closely with classroom staff, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and families to adapt school environments and tools, facilitating student access to the curriculum. You will also provide training and consultation to teaching staff on the safe use of equipment to ensure optimal benefits for students. Working under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will maintain detailed records, update goals, and contribute to annual reviews, ensuring clear communication of student progress to all stakeholders.
An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including a drug test, a National fingerprint-based Criminal Background Check (NCBC), and a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check. All requirements must be completed prior to the start of employment.
