About the Role
This position serves as a vital link in the patient care continuum at OneCHRISTUS, combining the hands-on expertise of a Phlebotomist with leadership responsibilities. You will be responsible for performing all core phlebotomy duties, including specimen collection, receiving, and referrals, while ensuring the highest standards of quality and patient satisfaction.
In this role, you will not only execute technical tasks such as venipuncture, capillary collection, urine drug screens, and various cultures but also manage the logistical flow of specimens to outside laboratories. Your work ensures that patient samples maintain their integrity from the moment of collection through to their arrival at the testing facility.
Beyond technical execution, you are expected to embody the OneCHRISTUS philosophy and core values in every interaction. This includes taking ownership of your professional growth, coordinating services for cost-efficient operations, and maintaining a safe, sanitary, and organized workspace. You will serve as a resource for patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, demonstrating strong communication skills while adhering to strict regulatory standards including CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and HIPAA privacy requirements.

Requirements

- verifiedPhlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or State licensure preferred if in Louisiana
Nice to Have
High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical laboratory, or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy. Familiarity with medical terminology, computer data entry, and organizational skills. 1 year of phlebotomy experience. Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification. Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or State licensure (if in Louisiana).
