Cardinal Health's Pharmacy Operations group ensures the safe, efficient, and effective coordination of pharmacy services for a diverse network of clients, including acute care hospitals, retail customers, ambulatory care facilities, and oncology and cardiology practices. Within this ecosystem, the Nuclear Pharmacy team plays a critical role by providing radiopharmaceuticals and other specialized drugs to medical care providers. The team operates under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines, often consulting with physicians and nuclear medicine technologists to ensure the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy.
This opportunity is designed for a Tech I, Nuclear Pharmacy Technician who is eager to launch a career in a unique compounding environment. The role offers a distinct advantage: no direct patient contact and no need to call insurance companies. Instead, you will work under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist to assist in pharmacy operations and customer interactions. As a trainee, you will learn all basic aspects of facility and equipment preparation, including cleaning, inventory management, and performing tasks as mandated by law.
Your day will involve assisting in quality checks, functional testing, and the dispensing process. You will be trained to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations. Duties include preparing prescriptions, drawing doses into syringes or vials, performing quality assurance tests, and managing the receipt, documentation, and storage of pharmaceuticals. The role also involves maintaining computer inventory, labeling blood cell products, and performing general laboratory and facility cleanup. Occasional clerical tasks, such as maintaining daily records and billing, as well as deliveries to accounts using company vehicles, may also be required.
We offer specific paid on-the-job training to ensure you are fully prepared for the role. If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit your application as soon as possible. The application window is anticipated to close on 06/02/2026.
This position is a 36-hour per week role, typically scheduled Monday through Friday from approximately 1:45 am to 9:30 am, including a 30-minute lunch.
