About the Role

Working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, this position serves as the vital front-line connection between Kaiser Permanente and its members. The role ensures the seamless flow of prescription services, combining precise administrative support with warm, professional patient interaction. From the moment a prescription is received to the final handoff of medication, you play a key part in upholding the organization's mission of providing high-quality, accessible healthcare.

Day in the Life

Your day involves a dynamic mix of patient-facing duties and behind-the-scenes processing. You will greet patients in person and over the phone, adhering to strict service standards to ensure a welcoming environment. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to the accurate intake of new and refill prescriptions, verifying critical details such as drug names, strengths, and special instructions before entering data into the Pharmacy Information Management System (PIMS).

Beyond processing, you will manage the physical and financial aspects of the pharmacy. This includes preparing labels, packaging medications, and handling cash transactions with integrity. You will also assist with inventory tasks, such as restocking shelves and managing merchandise, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The role requires physical stamina, as it involves standing for extended periods and lifting items up to 50 lbs.
