The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is seeking a fellowship-trained Pediatric Urologist to join our growing pediatric surgical team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to practice the full scope of pediatric urology within the region's only Children's Hospital, supported by a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic environment.
The Bernard and Millie Duker Children's Hospital serves as the only children's hospital for 80 counties in upstate New York, extending care to families in southwest Vermont and Western Massachusetts. As part of the larger Albany Medical Center—the centerpiece of medicine, research, and medical education in New York's Capital Region and the area's largest private employer with over 10,000 employees—faculty and staff work within diverse, interdisciplinary teams to teach learners at all levels.
Albany Medical Center anchors the state's historic capital city, offering a full range of inpatient and outpatient care. The system includes the region's largest hospital, only Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma centers, and the only children's hospital. Together with Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital, and the Visiting Nurses, the Albany Med Health System serves more than three million people across 25 counties.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric urologic care, including office-based procedures and operative care at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital. This position offers a balanced clinical practice with access to academic resources, collegial partners, and strong Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support.
You will join a collaborative team consisting of one pediatric urologist and 1.5 dedicated pediatric advanced practice providers. The role leverages access to a well-established referral network across the Capital Region and beyond. Clinical facilities are excellent, featuring easy patient access, free parking, and an outpatient surgery center located in the same building. The department is equipped with in-office ultrasound, fluoro-urodynamics, cystoscopy, and a laboratory technician.
As an academic faculty member, you will engage in teaching activities consistent with an academic practice. The department boasts an outstanding urology residency with fellowship-trained faculty in every subspecialty, accepting three residents per year who are highly decorated. There are multiple opportunities for clinical and basic research, facilitated by three in-house clinical research staff to support the IRB process and research-participant interactions, alongside supported student and resident research rotations.
Albany Medical College is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages applications from individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences, including women, persons with disabilities, protected veterans, and underrepresented minorities.
