The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic environment. It is home to an outstanding urology residency program with fellowship-trained faculty in every subspecialty, supporting three residents per year who are highly decorated graduates. The department is supported by three in-house clinical research staff to facilitate IRB processes and research-participant interactions, alongside robust opportunities for student and resident research rotations.
This fellowship-trained Pediatric Urologist will join a growing pediatric surgical team to practice the full scope of pediatric urology within the region's only Children's Hospital. The role offers a balanced clinical practice with access to academic resources, collegial partners, and strong Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support.\n You will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric urologic care, performing office-based procedures and operative care at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital. The position involves a mix of clinical responsibilities across outpatient clinics, inpatient consult services, and the operating room. You will collaborate closely with pediatric surgery, pediatrics, anesthesia, nursing, and APP colleagues to deliver care and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will engage in teaching activities consistent with an academic practice, interacting with students and residents in a highly rated educational environment.
The department features excellent clinical facilities with easy patient access and free parking, located immediately adjacent to an outpatient surgery center. The office is equipped with ultrasound, fluoro-urodynamics, cystoscopy, and a dedicated laboratory technician. You will join a collaborative team consisting of one pediatric urologist and 1.5 dedicated pediatric advanced practice providers, with access to a well-established referral network across the Capital Region and beyond.
