Phoenix Children's Department of Radiology is a robust group of 31 full-time radiologists organized into four specialized sections: Body (14), Neuro (7), Interventional Radiology (6), and Emergency (3). The department fosters a collegial environment where subspecialty expertise in Cardiac, Fetal, MSK, and Nuclear Medicine/PET is highly valued within the Body imaging section.
The team operates with a hybrid work model that promotes flexibility, allowing for a mix of onsite and remote shifts. While overnight image interpretation and consultations are managed by the Emergency section, the Body imaging section shares fluoroscopy call duties on a 1:13 basis. All radiologists are equipped with full home PACS workstations, and current onsite coverage averages approximately one day per week per radiologist.
We are recruiting a full-time Pediatric Body Radiologist to join our expanding team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is critical as the Phoenix Metro Area experiences rapid population growth, driving the need for expanded imaging services across new medical campuses. A new pediatric hospital and satellite medical office building are scheduled to open in early 2026, bringing the total number of recent satellite centers to three. These new locations will feature full-service radiology departments staffed by our pediatric radiologists to support outpatient, 24/7 inpatient, and emergency department services.
While subspecialized training and expertise in areas like Cardiac or Fetal imaging are preferred, recent fellowship graduates are encouraged to apply. The role offers the opportunity to work within a diverse group of radiologists while contributing to a department that is actively growing its footprint in the Valley.
Our faculty hold appointments with the University of Arizona College of Medicine (Phoenix), Mayo Clinic (Scottsdale), and Creighton University School of Medicine (Phoenix). The department maintains an active program of teaching and research, supporting three ACGME-accredited Pediatric Radiology fellow positions, two non-accredited fellow positions (Neuro and IR), as well as fellows, residents, and medical students from affiliated programs.
Phoenix Children's also maintains a Master Research Agreement with Philips Health Tech, facilitating clinical translational research focused on early-stage development hardware and software applications in imaging and image-guided therapy. To support these initiatives, a full-time Imaging Scientist PhD and a dedicated research coordinator are available to facilitate Radiology research.
