About the Role
As a Patient Surgical Liaison at Carroll Hospital, you will serve as a vital communication link between families, surgical teams, and clinical staff during the perioperative process. This role is designed to ensure that families are informed, supported, and guided with a compassionate, customer-focused approach.
In this position, you will manage the surgical waiting room, providing timely updates on patient progress and coordinating the flow of communication between all parties. You will guide families through surgical tracking systems, escort them to appropriate units following admission, and facilitate post-surgery meetings between surgeons and families. Your work is essential in maintaining a smooth operational flow while enhancing the overall experience for patients and their loved ones during critical moments.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleManage the surgical waiting room and coordinate communication between families and perioperative services
- check_circleProvide timely updates to families regarding patient progress during surgery
- check_circleMaintain accurate records of family member locations when they leave the waiting area
- check_circleEscort families to appropriate inpatient units following patient admission
- check_circleCoordinate and facilitate meetings between surgeons and families post-surgery
- check_circleCollaborate with charge nurses and clinical staff to communicate delays or changes in surgical timelines
- check_circleGuide families on how to use and understand surgical tracking systems
- check_circleIdentify and report safety or facility-related issues using internal systems
- check_circleSupport outpatient prescription processes as needed
- check_circleAddress and escalate concerns from patients' families or physicians as appropriate
