As a Patient Access Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients entering our Emergency Department. Your role is to collect patient demographic, insurance, and financial information to efficiently expedite the admitting process. You will verify benefits, obtain authorizations as needed, and collect co-pays or deductibles at the point of service, ensuring a positive first impression of the facility.
You will work in a fast-paced environment where critical thinking and decisive judgment are essential. The role requires navigating multiple software systems to ensure all required demographic, billing, and clinical data are accurately entered into the registration system in a timely manner. You will also distribute and explain forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients and families, communicating professionally both in-person and by phone.
