About the Role
As a Part-Time Delivery Driver, you are the face of PODS at the customer's doorstep. Your primary mission is to ensure the safe, efficient, and incident-free delivery and pickup of storage containers. Beyond the mechanics of driving and lifting, this role is about maintaining excellent rapport with customers while handling their belongings with care.
You will operate a commercial truck equipped with a patented lift mechanism, navigating to customer sites to load and unload containers. The day-to-day involves a blend of driving, equipment operation, and customer service. You will coordinate rental paperwork and payments directly with clients, verify deliveries using handheld computers, and communicate effectively with the Driver Lead or Market Manager regarding any customer questions or issues.
Safety is paramount. You are responsible for performing daily pre- and post-trip inspections of your commercial vehicle and lift, keeping the truck cab clean, and performing necessary field repairs on containers and equipment. You may also be called upon to provide backup for storage center functions or perform add-on deliveries to meet business needs.
