About the Role
As a Part-Time Container Delivery Driver, you are the face of PODS at the customer's doorstep. Your primary mission is to ensure the safe, efficient, and incident-free delivery and pickup of storage containers. This role goes beyond simply driving a truck; it requires maintaining excellent rapport with customers while handling their belongings with care. You will be responsible for operating a commercial truck equipped with a patented lift mechanism, managing the logistics of container placement, and coordinating rental paperwork directly with clients.
Day in the Life
Your day begins with a thorough pre-trip inspection of your commercial vehicle and lift, ensuring everything is road-ready. You will navigate to customer sites using company handheld computers for verification and route guidance. Once on location, you will operate the truck's lift mechanism to load and unload containers, ensuring they are clean and presentable before delivery.
Throughout your shift, you may be called upon to operate forklifts or overhead cranes, perform minor repairs on containers or equipment in the field, and coordinate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager to resolve any customer inquiries. You will also maintain the cleanliness of your truck cab and be prepared to provide backup support for storage center functions when business needs arise.
