This role is situated within the student wellness center at the Excelsior Springs Job Corps in Excelsior Springs, MO, part of the Kansas City Metro Area. The center is a vital component of a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor. Its mission is to help adolescents and young adults improve the quality of their lives through comprehensive academic and vocational training.
As a Locum Physician with The Locums Company, LLC, you will provide on-site primary and acute care to student patients aged 16 to 24. This is a long-term contract position designed to support a low-volume patient load, allowing for focused, high-quality care. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a schedule of 18 hours per week and no weekend requirements.
The Role in Context
In this capacity, you will serve as a key member of the medical team, collaborating closely with mid-level providers, center medical staff, wellness professionals, and substance abuse specialists. Your work will encompass a broad range of services, including school physical exams, wellness exams, and the management of minor acute conditions such as sports injuries, hypertension, diabetes, ADHD, GERD, UTIs, URIs, STDs, sprains, and allergies. The environment is designed for independent practice within a supportive team structure, ensuring students receive timely and effective medical attention.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer excellent compensation for this specialized role, starting at $155.00 per hour. Additionally, professional liability insurance is provided to ensure your practice is fully covered.
