The Parent Educator serves as a vital partner to families, dedicated to strengthening them and promoting protective factors while upholding strict confidentiality. This role is anchored in the institution's mission and values, specifically focusing on Native Hawaiian and poverty communities. By implementing the research-based Parent as Teachers (PAT) curriculum, the educator fosters parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and overall family well-being through a blend of in-person and virtual visits.
You will plan and deliver personalized parent education sessions, monitoring child development to provide developmentally appropriate guidance. A significant portion of your time involves assessing family needs, setting collaborative goals, and connecting families with essential community resources. You will also collaborate with the Hi'ilei team to facilitate monthly Lā 'Ohana group connections. Throughout the day, you will maintain detailed, accurate records of all interactions, screenings, and referrals, ensuring data integrity and client privacy.
Candidates selected for an interview will be required to undergo pre-employment background checks. Successful applicants will receive full funding for the required PAT Foundational and Model Implementation training (ages 0-3) as well as CPR and First Aid certification.
We are committed to providing culturally responsive services and value diversity. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, with a specific preference for those who demonstrate sensitivity to the interests and needs of Native Hawaiian and poverty communities.
