About the Role

Para-Educators play a vital support role within the district, primarily assisting students with disabilities and helping with student self-care. Whether assigned to general education classrooms or specialized vocational settings, Para-Educators work under general supervision to help teachers, program coordinators, and specialists complete instructional and clerical duties.

This position is designed for individuals who can effectively instruct students in core subjects such as mathematics, reading, science, social studies, and art, while also providing reinforcement in emotional, physical, and developmental skills. The role requires flexibility to assist students individually or in groups with lesson assignments, prepare teaching materials, and support students during transportation, recess, and lunch periods.

Employment Details

This is an affiliated (AFSCME) position governed by the Para-Educators negotiated contract. The role follows the school calendar with a typical schedule of 6-8 hours per day, totaling 30-40 hours per week.

Compensation and Benefits

The district offers a comprehensive benefits package to all eligible employees, including Anthem Medical and Vision insurance, Delta Dental insurance, and a company-funded HSA for select health plans.
